Generosity Creates Record-Breaking Results During Match Month

During its fourth annual Match Month campaign, The Garnett Community Foundation raised a record-breaking $167,027 bringing significant new charitable resources to support programs, projects, and organizations throughout Anderson County.

In September, individuals, families, businesses, and organizations were invited to make a gift to the Garnett Community Foundation to support an existing fund, create their own charitable fund, or give directly to the Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of the Patterson Family Foundation, eligible gifts received a 25 percent match, further increasing their impact in the community.

Gifts were made to support the Garnett Rotary Club, St. Rose Catholic School, City of Greeley, Anderson County Youth Trap Shooting Team, Women of Purpose Fund, Garnett Public Library, Anderson County Historical Society, The Hands to Careers Endowment Fund, and the Garnett Community Foundation.

“Combined with the matching funds from the Patterson Family Foundation, this totals approximately $250,540 in charitable investment in Anderson County,” said Julie Smith, Director of the Garnett Community Foundation. “That’s a quarter of a million dollars raised for our community in just 30 days! It’s incredible to see this outpouring of generosity.”

The funds raised will support a variety of local priorities, including youth programs, education, enhancing public spaces, and other community needs. Beyond the dollars raised, Match Month provided members of the Foundation an opportunity to connect with community members and organizations to learn about their charitable goals and share how they can partner to create meaningful and lasting impact.

The Garnett Community Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in this year’s Match Month, as well as the Patterson Family Foundation for its continued investment in rural communities.
